NCDA: Eat Darling Eat

Eat Darling Eat - the dessert lab that takes on the persona of the delicious treats its visitors consume.

Located in Hong Kong's Causeway Bay Fashion Walk shopping centre, Eat Darling Eat entices its visitors to do just that. The instantly recognisable dessert lab takes design references and its sweet colour palette from the delicious treats that it serves up, including local favourites, pineapple buns, tong sui and egg tarts. The interiors were designed by Hong Kong-based NC Design & Architecture (NCDA), established in 2011 by architect and professional tailor, Nelson Chow.

Yellow tinted glass divides the two levels of the lab. Upstairs a pink lounge with a reflective floor and ceiling creates an Instagrammable backdrop for customers to take photos and enjoy their desserts. The rounded corners of the lounge soften the presence of the interior while imprinted vivid optical illusions adorn the walls, furthering the curiosity and intrigue which is echoed in the brand's experimental menu. The design studio focuses on creating several destinations for guests to experience, providing a range of furniture designs, from bar stools, booth seating and, lounge areas, in a range of colourful hues to suit every preference.
